"I have both a personal and professional understanding of the complex layers of addiction and the impacts on an individual’s sense of self and relationship with others. My hope is to create a warm and validating space in which you can safely explore your challenges and move towards greater awareness and compassionate understanding of yourself.”
Katrina is an AHPRA registered psychologist holding current membership with the APS. She has experience working across education, health and hospital settings, and has experience facilitating group programs and providing individual therapy and assessments to clients from a range of backgrounds and experiences. She has a particular interest in understanding addiction in the context of early attachment and trauma, and seeks to support clients in understanding how early patterns of relating can influence present relationships and ways of coping.
Katrina’s therapeutic approach integrates supportive counselling with evidence-based therapeutic approaches including trauma-focussed psychotherapies, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). Katrina believes strongly in honouring the uniqueness and value of every individual who comes to therapy and prioritises person-centred care over a ‘one size fits all’ approach to recovery.
