"I have family experience with addiction, so I know first-hand how difficult and scary it can be. I know what it's like to sit on a therapist's couch and not know how to move forward, but with access to experienced therapists and group facilitators, I was lucky enough to learn how to manage the damage addiction caused in my family and my life. It's my privilege to help families and individuals understand addiction better, and heal from the damage it causes."
Amber is a senior therapist with over decade of experience in addiction treatment, and specialises in working with the family members of people who use drugs, alcohol, gambling, or have complex mental health needs including disordered eating and psychiatric diagnoses such as borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.
She has worked in both public and private inpatient rehabilitation centres and hospitals, specialist outpatient counselling services, and private practice.

Amber believes that most addictions form as a way of helping people cope with pain, trauma or other difficulties. Her approach to counselling is collaborative and compassionate, and takes into account a person's whole life - their past, present, and what they want their future to be like. She supports clients and their families with a mixture of education, counselling and safety strategies.
Before becoming a therapist, Amber worked in the entertainment industry. She has an understanding of the difficulties that come with non-traditional and high-profile jobs, and is experienced in helping clients manage addiction issues when they travel frequently.
